Wake up and change policies to allow more critical reviews!!
Time for Apartment Ratings to wake up and let tenants tell it like it really is.
No more limiting of tenants reviews!
No more erasing of tenants' statements unless they're obscene or ultra-obviously libelous. MOST aren't libelous, so stay on the side of the TENANT, not the lazy greedy apartment owners!
Make this site one of true benefit to renters!
Quit kissing the rumps of the apartment owning corporations, quit it!!
If you're going to kiss ass, kiss tenant's ass!
Please see our review policies. We allow a wide range of experience to be posted and have minimal restrictions. This has been in place for many years.

I agree! This site (and all review sites) are for the tenants, not the corporations that "manage" these properties. Those corporations already hold most of the power and have plenty of ways to "respond" if they don't like a tenants review. But the whole point of a review is for one customer to communicate to other customers. Let the customer decide if a review is worth reading or not!

Totally disagree. I have found racist comments, comments on the sex life of the people in their apt complexes, and just some ranting and raving but no actual review. If the people writing the reviews or making comments cannot stick to actual reviews, then the
junk" should not be included. It should also not be a forum to slander people without any limitiations. That's not justice of fair either. -

I absolutely agree!!! They pick and choose what they want to preserve and what they want to edit. My manager hated it when I left a bad review because she was stalking tenants who knew their landlord tenant rights and enforced them. This wasn't an isolated incident. This is a way for tenants to speak out. I had no idea that management could just call in or email Apartment ratings and get it removed! I'm passing this along to everyone to not trust Apartment Ratings at all.

I totally disagree. Many statements that should be removed are not and often the writer is not even a resident but using this site as a way to slander someone since it is so easy to do here. I review over 40 properties on this site and many are not reviews at all but letters attacking individuals.

While i wouldn't have put it as brazenly as 'anon' did, this is a site for tenants. Apartment renters need this feedback so they can accurately judge which apartments are worth their time.
Now before somebody comments on how "negative reviews make it impossible to accurately review, blah, blah" let me first point out that we're not stupid, we are able to make up our own minds based on the reviews we read.
As I stated before, the apartment I'm currently living has plenty of negative reviews that I've yet to see any evidence of. I was able to determine that the negative reviews were very much out of date...and so they were.
The managers on this site complaining about the negative aspect or asking for more control over the site, in my opinion, have something to hide. Almost none of them provide any links to the complex in question which makes one wonder how many negative reviews they have, if the reviews all bring up the same thing, and why they feel the need to complain yet don't feel the need to prove what they talk about.
Managers: Let us judge if your complaints have any merit, post a link instead of hiding behind words like a bunch of cowards.
